No Muse and Hurricane Sandy

Hey, my readers. Still no inspiration for a novel. This is why I'm not participating in NaNoWriMo this year. No idea what to write, and with school taking up so much time, I'd never make it to the 50,000 word mark. Which annoys me. I don't feel like a wanna-be writer anymore. All I can think about is school. I have school on Monday through Friday, and then I have to do CALM 20 and HCS 3000 on Saturday. I have no free time what's so ever. How am I supposed to be a writer?

Though, I think I've picked up an interest in painting, though I haven't had the chance to break out the paintbrushes yet. When I'm done school today, I think I'll draw something then paint it. I want to see how good I am. I have an idea for a Christmas present for my mother.

Oh, and before I forget, I am now 17 years old! I'm reaching the older teenage years now.

I'm praying for the states and provinces that are getting hit by Hurricane Sandy. I have a lot of family members that live in Ontario and I want them all to be safe. I also hope that no one gets hurt.

If any of you live in the path of the storm, and live near any bodies of water, DO NOT go down to the beach. I know you may want to see the waves, but people get swept away by them. A woman got killed by a flying sign because she was outside at the wrong time.

I care for you guys. I'll post about this storm and keep you updated if you do not watch the weather channel.

Biology...Gotta Love it - NOT!

Hey guys! I'm back. I'm supposed to be doing school at this moment, but I decided to write a blog post to update you guys on how I'm doing. I've been wrestling myself, asking myself if I want to join NaNoWriMo this year. But I've decided not to, even though I've got a file on the website. No, this year I'd like to go at my own pace. I don't want to generate a book filled with stuff that I might not be able to sort out and make a decent book out of.

So I'm back to the drawing board. I really need to get a book written and published...

I'm also bored, since school has sucked most of my creativity from my poor cranium. So I've decided to make a mascot (a seeable one) for this blog! Hopefully he'll be able to help me with my creativity.

He's a Kreon named Mirage.

And he's not happy about what I'm learning about today: Evolution. Though it's necissary for me to learn in Biology (if I want to become a Equine reporter or such), I still don't like it. And Mirage doesn't like it either.

Don't know how good the quality is. At least you can read the words, right? Yeah, this is how bored I am. You'll probably see more of Mirage some time...

Total Chaos

Hey all my readers, how is school doing? School is cluttering up my day and making me tired, but I'm not complaining! My mom supplied me with an Iced Capp from Tim Hortons, so I am focused! - I think.

My major novel writing has ground to a halt, but I hope to reboot it sometime in the near future, like when I get a handle on school. Ugh, I wish I didn't have to say that word all the time. It's annoying and exhausting and it reminds me of the torture I have to endure every day until we hit some sort of holiday.

Though, on a more positive note, my birthday is coming up. On the 25th of October, it'll be my birthday. It signals that I'm one year closer to being an adult. But it also means my parents are asking what I want (presents-wise) for my birthday. Well, I don't want a major birthday party, I just want to spend it with my family. And...I want a Sonic Screwdriver...

I haven't even written up my wish-list. I don't wanna think about that at the moment...

My books...?

Well, I'm scatter-brained and, like I said before, I have hit a brick wall. I need to go bash my head against a wall...

9/11

So, yeah, I'm here. It seems I haven't been blogging lately, which is bad, but it doesn't matter. I'm blogging today to remind everyone that today, 11 years ago, the World Trade Center fell and thousands of people died. I watched it happen when I was 5. I still remember the footage I saw on the TV to this day.

So remember the innocent office workers that couldn't get out.

Remember the innocent firemen who went up to save people as the towers came down.

Remember the people on the streets that got crushed by debris because they couldn't get out of the way in time.

And remember that this could happen again, but we pray that it doesn't.

Doubts

So, I have been having trouble writing my main stories. I've hit this major writers block, though I think I can break through them. I've been doubting how my stories will be accepted by the world, but if I go by my cousin's reaction to my ideas, I think I'd do pretty good. He says that vehicles controled by artifical intelligence is "awesome". That's positive feedback from a teenager that's my age :D

Contest -Posponed/ended

So Jake has posponed/ended the contest because of family...stuff...and that his story is going to turn out a lot longer than he expected it would. That is a big relief for me, though, because my story is coming a lot slwer than I wanted it to. :)

Right now, I'm watching a Doctor Who marathon, and writing. I'm in blissful serenity. :D

Onward to the 15th!

So, Ashley and Jason's debut novel is being put on a back burner until I get a few books published. I'm just putting that out there for you. Jake over at Teenage Writer has challenged his readers to finish a novel before he finishes his on the 15th of August. So what am I gonna do? I'm going to accept the challenge. Why? 'Cause I'm a challenge loving girl, that's why!

The novel I'll be working on is called...

Mountain Park

...See? It's going to be a thriller where a girl get's lost up by the ghost town of Mountain Park. It's just her and her cat against the world.

Pray that I can beat Jake!

Plotting...

So I've got a small character line-up for the story. I've been thinking, also, that I'll publish a few stand-alone stories before I publish this one so that I have a little bit of popularity first. Nobody's going to make a movie out of a newbies book...

Oh well.

So the character's are:

Main Characters:
Ashley Burns
Jason Ravenwood-Small
SAM - Small industries Automated Machine

Secondary Characters:
Samuel Burns (Ash's grandfather)
Chase Small (Jason's father)
Carter Westman (friend of Ash's; hacker)

That's all I have currently. I'll keep you posted.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

So...my muses are finally coming back to me.

But...the reason I haven't posted for a while was because of school before my computer died on me. I had to get a new one. And now I'm sitting in a cool house while the air outside is hot enough to cook a egg on the asphalt. Hmmm...maybe I should try doing that. I'm sure there's an egg in the fridge somewhere... or maybe not, since me and my bro are allergic to eggs - no no no! No that kind of allergic. If I eat an egg, I won't die. It's just my intestines can't handle it and I have a leakage somewhere that allow non-fully-digested food into my bloodtream...I think.

Now: the reason why my muses are coming back.

I'm clearing all of the storys I had up (since I lost them with my computer...poor laptop) and working on one.

And you know what gave me fire to start writing full force again? This:

The writer Cornelia Funke dedicated the story Inkheart to Brendan Fraser because when she created the character Mortimer Folchart, she was thinking of him. And Mr. Fraser is a pretty popular actor. He ended up being the actor to play Mortimer in the movie.

Sooo... I would to do something similar.

So I'm going to base one of the characters in my story off of this fellow:

Shia Saide LaBeouf. The character he inspired goes by the name of Jason Eric Ravenwood-Small. But his signature would only contain this much of his name: Jason E. Ravenwood. Hopefully, the publisher would allow me to dedicate the story to him. 'Cause if the book becomes a movie...well...he would make a great Jason.

So that's what rekindled my writing :)

Uhh...

So I've basically have hit a roadblock. My mind has desided to go on strike with my main story and I'm scrambling to figure out what to write. I've emailed Hasbro in order to see if I can write a story about giant robots from space without getting sued because of the Transformers franchise. So I'm trying to see if I can write a story - one that would never belong to a series - but I scrambling and picking up nothing but sand. *sigh* I don't know what I want to write anymore...

:( But I'm not giving up! I have a whole summer in front of me, and I'll be not wasting it.

So I'm going to write a story, one about something - but the main character will be a girl...

Here's the plot:

Samantha Walker is a normal girl who lives on a small acherage just outside of a small town in southern Alberta. She works at a diner, and all she can see from the windows are rolling fields of green, green grass. She is happy there. But one night, she wakes up to find light shining from the empty barn. When she enters the barn, she finds a bow and arrow, and her whole life changes.

How was that? That's all I could think up...

I'm Really Thankful...

I am so happy. My mind is running rampant with ideas for my story, and I have finally gotten a picture up of the Car AI (artifical intelligence) that will be starring in the first book of a series that I can't even name yet (since my mind has kinda run dry with ideas). The picture to the left of these words is what the AI will look like. I still haven't got a name for him yet, though. I listed it last post but nobody commented, so I'm mentioning it again. I'll set up a poll for it, and I expect you to vote. Please. Thanks. I'll continue to write, but I will have to stop when I come to the part where Andi (the main character) meets the AI. I might just lose the inspiration if I do.

I'll also set up a poll for the title of the book as well. But first, I have to show you the summary. :) When you read it, please tell me if you have any ideas.

Andrea "Andi" Anderson is a normal homeschooled girl. She loves horses and lives on a farm. One day, her life is flipped upside down when she is kidnapped. She quickly learns that her captors want her for a specific - and a farfetched and rediculous - reason. Andi, it seems, is a hero that is from another world. Her captors use her to travel to this fantasy world full of Lord of the Rings like magic so that they may be able to obtain enough power to take over Earth and crown their leader - a sixteen year old boy named Fletcher Knight - as king. But before Fletcher can put his plans into action, they are put under threat as a man who has the power that Fletcher wants finds out about Andi. Now they must team up in order to stop this man, and Fletcher learns that being good and being a hero is a lot better than being bad.

How was that?

Please tell me...

Exciting News ~ Book Update

So, I have finally gotten my mind to work again and ideas are just pouring in for one of the stories I had started probably a year ago. I see so much potential for it that I'm giddy. You should see my face right now, I'm smiling!

Now, I've gotten most of the characters down pat. The plots good, and I'm setting my chapters up a special way. Here's how I've set up Chapter One:

POV character: Andrea is riding her horse when she notices a strange car sitting at the end of her driveway.

Goal: She wants to keep an eye out to see if she spots it again.

Conflict:  Car follows her everywhere, and chases her several times.

Disaster:  She is captured.

I have come to the part where she has spotted the car, but not much else. If I can get my school done quickly, I may be able to get some more written.

Now, there's a character in it that is going to be very special, but I'm having trouble naming him, and it is really getting on my nerves. I just want to be able to name him and feel comfortable. He's an AI (Artifical Intelligence), and of course, I decided that his name was going to be an acronym. And a acronym of what? That was my question. Here's what I've been able to think up:
  • (CRUISE) Corporation Racket UnIversal Seven Eion.
  • (CRUISE) CoRporation one thoUsand 'In SevEn.
  • (CORD) CORporation Destiny.
  • (KNOTT) KNight Operations Three Thousand.
  • (BUCK) Blast immUne security Car of the Knights.
  • (MARK) Machine of ARtifical intelligence by Knight.
  • (MIK) Machine Intelligence of Knight.
  • (ETHAN) Excaliber of The Heroic Artifical intelligeNce.
I think I had more, but I can't remember... oh well, I'll update with that some time.

So which one do you think? The AI is going to be a car...a Honda Crosstour!

Ugh! The Plot Bunnies are Attacking!!!

Here I am, sitting at my desk, on my computer, with some coffee, trying to sort out my brain. I HAVE ANOTHER FREAKIN' PLOT, PEOPLE! I can't even focus on one stupid story as I try to stop fangirling over Beyblade, Pokemon, Sonic the Hedgehog, the book I just got to review from Bethany House Publishers, what's left of my Toblerone chocolate and how it was 3D first, etc.

This plot came to me while I was doing school today when I was told to make a table for Word Processing. I typed "Phone Book" as a title, and an idea just ran into my mind. Inspiration seems to be back, but he isn't helping me in any way that I want him to. Anyway, this plot, or idea came to me and I thought, why don't I write a book called "The PhoneBook"? People would find it interesting...I hope.

And then I thought about a possible outline...

Or plot, I should say.

And this is what I came up with:

A girl recives a mysterious phone call one night from someone who refused to give her a name. He sounded scary enough and the girl really didn't know who it was. And she doesn't tell her parents when he called or anything about it. But one day, people start to go missing, and the girl begins to believe that the disappearences are linked to the strange phone call - even though there were no other reports. The authorities inform people that the disappearences are just because people were getting lost in a forest (I have to think of a name) and rescue missions were being conducted. So the girl decides to go on a walk in the forest and the adventure begins!

I believe it would be a fantasy, but I'm not going to tell you why ;)

So that's all I have to report. Allyons-y!

This New Year...

I believe my Western/Sci-fi book is actually going to be revived! After leaving it for almost a year, I think I'll be able to restart it!

I also have another book going, called "Rusted Plates" at the moment. That's a Fantasy book.

I have another book to review and I will be reading it. I have nothing really to talk about, so Mikaela ~ out!

Update on "Seeking the King"

I know I haven't really been updating here. I'm guilty as charged. My problem is: I haven't really had anything to talk about. I have sunk into a state of Procrastination, and Inspriation hasn't been able to save me yet.

The book I'm dying to work on is the idea "Seeking the King". In the top right corner, you can see the progress, and I bet you've noticed that the amount of words hasn't changed over the recient months. You can blame Procrastination and my little brother. My brother's mouth doesn't stop motoring (meaning: talking), and when he thumps on the floor, the Mobile Home shakes like a bomb went off next door. School takes up most of my day, so whenever I get inspiration, I forget it before I'm done school. My life is going around in annoying circles. But I have a plot - I think - and it's like this: Ash is a boy who wishes he could erase his mistakes. After a freak storm sends him to another world - one in Medieval style - Ash gets that chance. He has to find out why he looks like the minion of the Enemy, and Seek the King before it's too late. I think it's a good plot, but I want to know if it sounds like a good plot to YOU guys. I hate it when I don't get any feedback.

Today, I'll face school while formulating what will happen next. Because I'm stuck at this part:

~*~

My conscious resurfaced sometime later, and I figured that I was dead. I had to be, I had just sunk to the bottom of the ocean, hadn’t I?

I heard footsteps on gravel as my sense of touch rebooted. Was I laying on…rocks? Hmm…

“‘Ey, Sully, it seems that we’ve fished up one of ours, eh?” said a rough voice suddenly, agonisingly loud. Well, this wasn’t Heaven, then. Not like I deserved it. ‘Welcome to Hell, Ash Montgomery!’ was the next thing I expected to be said. “I wonder what he was doing in the ocean…”

“Aye, Captain!” agreed a second voice (obviously Sully), equally as rough as the first one. “What should we do with him?”

“I suggest we take him to our lord,” the first voice said.

“Very good—I would have said the same thing,” Sully said with enthusiasm.

This was confusing me. But their objective of taking me to their ‘lord’ really got to me. I had a feeling about who their ‘lord’ was, since I was dead.

I opened my eyes and looked around wildly, and just as I jumped up to make my mistake, one of the two figures that had been talking above me stopped me from moving by pinning me down with a hand on my chest. I struggled some more and bared my teeth at the man. “Let me go! Let me go! I’m not supposed to be here!”

The man who was pinning me down chuckled. “Oh, but we can’t let you go now,” he said with a malicious tone in his voice.

I gulped, moving my head as far away from him as I could. I didn’t like him and his breath reeked.

~*~

What could happen next, hmm?
